About Us

The Peter McKee Community Food Centre provides food and personal care products to upwards of 1700 families in our community (representing upwards of 5000 individuals) EVERY MONTH! Supportive of improving the long-term quality of physical and mental health of our clients, in addition to providing food and personal care products, the Peter McKee Community Food Centre also supplies a variety of ON-SITE necessary services to its Clients, including a full-service Eye Care Clinic; Kids, Teens and Adult Cooking Classes (Medavie Community Kitchen); Gardening opportunities which provides fresh produce for our Clients (Peter McKee/Rotary Community Garden), Dental Care Clinics; Legal Aid Clinics; and a number of other programs in partnership with other organizations as well as many volunteer opportunities to engage individuals wanting to help or become involved.

The Centre opened in the spring of 2016 as part of the Food Depot Alimentaire which amalgamated several food banks serving Moncton at that time. In April 2021, the Peter McKee Centre had to be completely separated from the Food Depot and become its own independent non-profit charitable organization when Food Depot became the Provincial Warehouse and Distribution Centre for all 64 food banks and various non-profit agencies throughout all of New Brunswick. As a result, the Centre depends heavily on community funding and donations to continue to serve those in need in our City.
